The first thing you have to do is clean whatever you want to paint. Remember, it’s crucial to remove all the dirt from the surface.

Otherwise, those little pests will come back to meddle with the painting process. And no one wants that.

So, to clean the surface grab a piece of cloth and dip it in warm water. Then rub it across the surface to get rid of all the dirt.

This will clean the surface and you’ll be ready to head over to the next step.

Step 2- Smoothen the surface.

The second task is to smoothen the surface so that the paint can sit across the surface smoothly. Otherwise, you’ll see lumps and bumps in places.

That can seriously deteriorate the look. This is why you need to use sandpaper.

Rubbing it all over the surface will smoothen it out in no time.

And after it’s done you can easily apply the hammertone paint. Try it out now to see what amazing results it can give.

Step 3- Apply the hammertone paint.

Now once the surface is ready to be blessed with some hammertone paint take out the can of paint. Then shake it up for at least a minute.

This will get your paint mixed out evenly and it’ll come out smoothly.

Once you’re done shaking the can make sure you adjust the nozzle so that the spray can come off nicely.

And when that’s done take your can and put it 15 to 20 cm away from the surface. Then spray the paint all over the surface.

Now while spraying makes sure you overlap the layers by 0.5 to 1 cm. Otherwise, it won’t come off even.

Once you have that under control the rest will be a piece of cake. But even if you’re nervous try it on a different surface to practice.

And once you get the hang of it go for the real deal.

Step 4- Wait for the paint to dry.

Are you done spraying the paint? Then sit back and relax. That’s because it’s time to let the paint dry off.

Now time for the main question. How long does it take for hammertone paint to dry? Well, you can touch it after 15 minutes but it takes about 1 to 2 hours to become ready to be coated again.

However, if you want the entire thing to completely dry off you have to wait for 2 whole days.

Step 5- Reapply the paint.

Time for the last and final step. Are you ready? Well then take out your can of paint and start spraying again.

Yes, that’s right you have to apply one final coat of paint. That’s because with hammertone paint one layer is not enough. You need at least two-layer of paint.

Otherwise, it’ll look too transparent and won’t give off its full effect. But hey, on the bright side you’ll have a beautiful surface with a fine texture once you’re done.
